Specific guidelines govern how we represent each of our acquisitions and how we use their logos. The migration path, including naming, for acquired companies and assets is determined on an individual basis by the Brand team. 

Acquired Brand Logos

The Morningstar DBRS brand logo

Morningstar DBRS currently goes to market, where appropriate, with the Morningstar Credit family brand. For additional guidance, please refer to the Morningstar Credit marketing hub.

The PitchBook, a Morningstar company brand logo

Where appropriate, PitchBook goes to market with the Morningstar Data+Analytics family brand. Please refer to the PitchBook brand guidelines for additional information (password: PitchBook).

Morningstar and PitchBook Lockups

Use this logo lockup when Morningstar and PitchBook appear together and need equal visibility. It’s designed specifically for co‑marketing materials and should not be used in other situations. This lockup is a unique, interim treatment to support the co-branding work currently underway, and is exclusive to Morningstar and PitchBook. Do not use this treatment as a model for other co‑marketing lockups.

Sizing and layout

  • Horizontal lockup: The PitchBook logo is sized so its x‑height is 90% of the Morningstar logo. The space between the logos is equivalent to the width of the Morningstar “M.”
  • Vertical lockup: The PitchBook logo is 82.5% the size of the Morningstar logo and is optically centered. The space between the logos is equivalent to the width of the Morningstar “M” when turned 90 degrees. 

Tips

  • Do not create or modify variations of the lockup.
  • Always use the lockup at a minimum height of 20 px, which converts to 0.21 inches or 5.3 mm to ensure readability.
  • Do not include registered trademark symbols (®).
