Morningstar Medalist Rating

The Morningstar Medalist Rating, formerly the Morningstar Analyst Rating, is a forward-looking assessment of a fund’s ability to outperform its category peers over the long term.

Funds receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze, Neutral, or Negative rating, reflecting the strength of their investment process, people, and parent company. A higher rating means the fund has a solid foundation for future success, though it’s not a guarantee of future performance.

Range

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist Ratings shown with Not Ratable, Under Review, Neutral, and Negative ratings.
The Medalist Rating artwork is always paired with its appropriate verbal portion of the rating (left). Artwork is never locked up with a text-only rating (right).

Size Variants

The more finely drawn variants (left) are best for standalone applications or higher-resolution displays. The simplified variants (right) improve legibility at smaller sizes and are best for tabular applications and lower-resolution displays. Each size variant has different sizing requirements.
